I don't have my own skis can I hire them in resort?

Yes. Depending upon your ability level, you might even be able to hire them directly from us.

This year, we have eleven pairs of Atomic skis of lengths ranging from 150cm to 165cm; however, these skis are only suitable for those of you who are intermediate to advanced skiers, and those of you who can supply your own boots.

You can rent our skis for your six days for only 80 € (eighty euros).

If we are unable to help you, you could also use our recommended supplier Philippe Scuotto of Champfort Sports, who are conveniently located close to the Chalet d'Antoine.

Champfort Sports offer a discounted rental rate to Simon Butler Skiing guests, along with a 10% discount on sales if reserved prior to arrival. Contact details can be found here.

I have specific dietary requirements, what should I do?

You need to make us aware of any special needs well ahead of time so that we can make any necessary preparations. For example, it's very difficult to rustle up a gluten free meal with only an hour's notice.

If you are aware of any special requirements at the time of making your booking, please give us this information on your booking form. There is space provided, however should you find there is not enough room, please feel free to attach a covering note.

If you have any special requirments after you have already booked your holiday, please contact us immediately either in writing to our postal address, or in an e-mail; or by telephone on the numbers provided above.

What is included in the price as quoted?

Free instruction - minimum two hours daily in Megève for 5 days

Six day lift passes 162 euros plus 3 euro deposit (adult) and 141 euro's plus 3 euro deposit (children)

Lift passes are discounted and must be purchased in cash in order to qualify for Simon Butler Skiing discounts.

FAQs

Do I need to bring my own towels with me?

No, there is no need to bring your own towels.

We provide a set of towels comprised of a hand and bath towel, per guest, in both chalets.

All towels are changed mid-week.

If you would like fresh towels other than the mid-week change, we can provide them at a small cost of 6 € (six euros) per set.

I have taken my own flight, where do I meet you in the airport?

When you have collected your luggage, you should make your way to the charter terminal (Terminal 2), where our Simon Butler Skiing representative will be meeting and greeting guests off our regular Gatwick flight.

If I drive is there parking?

Yes, we have a car park at the Chalet d'Antoine, and you can park your car there for the duration of your holiday. This applies to guests staying at the Chalet Soleil d'or also.

Is there anyone at the Chalets who can service my skis?

Yes. Alex Casey, one of our ski instructors offers a ski service to all our guests.

Where do I get my ski-lift pass?

If you have given your Chalet manager cash to collect your lift passes for you at the discounted rate, your passes will be available from the manager before dinner.

If you wish to pay for your passes by credit card, you can do so online prior to your arrival, or you can do so in person once you have arrived in Megève.

If you wish to pay by credit card in resort, or if you wish to ski on your arrival day, you will need to go to the ticket office which can be found at the Chamois Lift Station in the centre of the village.

Will I be able to ski as soon as I arrive?

The short answer is yes, but there are certain conditions under which this might not be the case.

When you arrive into resort, the chalet staff will unload your luggage and make sure it gets to your room.

After all the luggage has been unloaded, the chalet manager will collect the Euros (in cash, not traveller's cheques) which you have brought with you to pay for your Evasion Mont Blanc lift passes

If you are renting from Champfort Sports, we urge you to head straight to Phillipe to collect your ski equipment..

Your ski groups will be posted in the chalets upon your arrival.

If you have your own equipment, or if you are able to pick up your equipment efficiently and in good time from Phillipe, then there is nothing stopping you from hitting the slopes immediately. However, you should be aware that you will have to purchase a half day lift-pass from the ticket office.
